Charlotte Holzer has a MA in textile conservation and is working on her PhD thesis at the Technical University of Munich since 2014. The project deals with the history and conservation of handmade glass fiber textiles, with a special focus on the glass fiber dress from the Deutsches Museum. In 2015 and 2016 Charlotte received funding through the Scholar-in-Residence Programme at the Deutsches Museum and was awarded with the Rakow Grant for Glass Research 2016 from the Corning Museum of Glass. Her research interests cover complex conservation treatments on historic costumes and handling hazardous materials, especially mineral fibres.
