The iF Design Foundation and Die Neue Sammlung have agreed on a joint three-year program, starting in 2023. Together with international partner institutions, they will work on the development of building blocks that can be used to bring design education up to date. In the process, the Neue Sammlung will become a public campus. The entire process and its results will be published and made available to all interested institutions. The project is based on the findings of an international research project with participants from all over the world, which, since 2016, has been conducted and published by the iF Design Foundation. The starting point was the widely expressed view that design education needs an update, taking into account many different perspectives. The project aims at providing design schools with a proven set of tools and references, which they can use to implement transformation. The launch event will take place on 27 October 2022, as part of a public symposium at the Pinakothek der Moderne.
