Steven Pine is Senior Decorative Arts Conservator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. There he cares for a variety of 3-dimensional objects that range from 17th through 21st century furniture, gilding and upholstery to modern and contemporary wood, plastics and metal design. Trained as a sculptor at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia he went on to earn an MS in Art Conservation from the University of Delaware / Winterthur Museum program. Active in the American Institute for Conservation he has been Chair of the Wooden Artifacts Group and Co-Chair of the Emergency Committee.
