About the Exhibition

The Design Collection in the Neues Museum comes from Munich, from the holdings of Die Neue Sammlung. With well over 60,000 objects, this state museum is regarded as the world’s largest collection of product design and is one of the leading international museums of modern applied art – now located in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
In the Neues Museum, Die Neue Sammlung on the ground floor covers around 1000 square metres and highlights the history of design from 1945 to the present day. For the first time since the museum opened in Nuremberg, Die Neue Sammlung is now presenting a major international exhibition. Design museums from all over the world are invited to the Neues Museum as guests.
