In conversation with Dr. Angelika Nollert, the award-winning product designer Werner Aisslinger will not only talk about his current exhibition “House of Wonders” in Die Neue Sammlung. For the installation as well in the Paternoster Hall as the so called Loftcube outside the Pinakothek der Moderne raise further questions of how we will live and work in the future.

The product designer, who is also sought-after as an interior designer at the moment and has notably attracted attention with the Bikini Hotel in Berlin, is one of the most innovative thinkers in his profession. With eye-catching and unconventional solutions he takes on topics such as material transfer, mobility by changeable living and working situations, sustainability by upcycling or micro-farming – production of furniture and food that is farmed to the individual needs. With his narrative and demonstratively analogous decorative presentation, he questions the digitally penetrated life form and provocatively and humorously stands up to the “form follows function” or “form follows emotion”, which is still anchored in the understanding of design.

The talk will be conducted in German.
