Carolien Coon is a research assistant at UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage. Her research focus is the preservation of Additive Manufactured (AM) heritage including the sustainable use of AM in cultural heritage applications. Within the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage and Archaeology (SEAHA) she is developing accelerated photodegradation methodologies for rapid stability assessments of AM polymers entering collections. She has gained experience as a sculpture conservator at various practices including Plowden and Smith Ltd and Victoria and Albert Museum. She holds a BA (Hons) in Conservation (City and Guilds of London Art School) and a Fine Art degree from CUT, South Africa
